MARANTZ CD94 II o Mk2.
Un riferimento assoluto, ancora oggi ambito e richiesto come 25 anni fa.
Un apparecchio digitale antesignano di tutti gli apparecchi digitali high end che, a distanza di un quarto di secolo (paragonabile ad un'era zoologica se rapportato al progresso) ancora fa parlare di se.
Con i suoi operazionali Philips ha creato quella magia che ha consentito anche ai più scettici analogisti, di convertirsi in parte al supporto specchiato. Personalmente ne ho posseduti tre esemplari, il primo nel 1988, se non ricordo male era un CD94 e basta.
Poi presi uno dei primi Mk2 sul mercato dell'usato, ed era difficile anche negli anni 90 trovarli.
Infine ne ho preso uno di recente, pagandolo 600 euro e spendendoci oltre 150 euro di revisione e piccole migliorie.
Devo dire che non a torto, regge il confronto ancor'oggi per la sua musicalità, forse solo un po colorata sul registro basso dai dispositivi di conversione, ma di certo piacevole e non affaticante come alcune macchine anche blasonate prodotte oggi a cifre indicibili.
E' come la 500 per chi ha imparato a guidare come me alla fine degli anni 70, primi anni 80. Non puoi capire se non hai mai guidato una 500.
Se vi capita ti trovarlo in buone condizioni, vale tutti i soldi spesi, la meccanica è una Philips CDM1 in pressofusione di alluminio, si trovano ancora facilmente tutti i pezzi ed in ogni città c'è almeno una assistenza Philips Marantz in grado di sistemarlo a dovere.
Grande macchina, di diritto nell'olimpo dell'hifi di ogni tempo.
Come tutte le cose buone, con il tempo, anche questo player leggendario, aumenta di valore, oggi non è difficile vederlo in vendita anche a più di 1000,00 euro, specialmente in Giappone e Russia dove è ancora molto apprezzato. Di fatto molte persone lo scoprono solo ora, dopo aver fatto anni di esperienze nel digitale passando da Burr&Brown a Analog Device o AKM piuttosto che Sabre, quando si ascolta un TDA1541 Silver Crown si capisce che la ciambella era venuta con il buco alla prima infornata.
Il chip Philips TDA1541 (preceduto solo dal 1540 a bordo dell'acclamato CD100 di mamma Philips) è la cosa migliore per ascoltare un cd, la cosa più analogica che è stata mai prodotta ed ancora oggi, ad oltre 35 anni dalla presentazione del supporto CD, questi chip di conversione dicono ancora la loro.
